Privacy
Dayglow Journal is a small independent publication. We try to collect as little from our readers as we can get away with and still run a working website.
What we collect
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we store your email address and nothing else. If you write to us at hello@dayglowjournal.co, we have a copy of that message. If you load a page on the website, our server records the request in an access log for about two weeks before it is rotated out. That log includes your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, and the user agent your browser sent. We do not sell this. We do not share it with anyone else.
What we do not collect
We do not use third-party analytics. We do not use advertising cookies. We do not have Facebook or Google tracking pixels on the site. We do not pass your email to any marketing platform. If any of this changes, we will say so plainly, in this document and in the newsletter.
Cookies
The site uses a small session cookie to remember whether you have dismissed the cookie banner, and a small preference cookie if you adjust the reading view. We do not use cookies to track you between sites. You can clear them at any time without affecting your ability to read the Journal.
If you are a subscriber, we send you one short newsletter every other Sunday. There is an unsubscribe link at the bottom of each one. If you unsubscribe, your email address is removed from our list within a week, and we do not keep a copy.
How to reach us
If you want a copy of what we have on file for you, or want it deleted, write to hello@dayglowjournal.co and we will handle it within a week or two. We are a small publication, so please forgive the pace.
Jurisdictions
The Journal is published out of Portland, Oregon. The server that hosts the site is in the United States. If you are reading from the European Union, the United Kingdom, or California, you have the usual rights that apply there. Reach us at the address above.
